We produced the announcement video of CastleDao, a builder residency event in Slane Castle, put together by Superteam Ireland.
Turning Slane Castle Into a Builder Residency
For Superteam Ireland's Castle DAO launch, Skyrise created a live-action film shot on-site at Slane Castle. It introduces the residency with a strong sense of place, using the castle, a voiceover from Superteam Leader Alejandro, and a deliberate visual structure. From the treatment stage, the direction was clear: not a traditional event promo but a cinematic manifesto, presenting Castle DAO as the intersection of legacy and innovation - where centuries of history meet a new generation of builders.
Building the visual direction
Before production, the team developed a treatment to shape the film's structure, rhythm, and visual language. Planned in acts, it moved from the castle's atmosphere into Alejandro's voice, then into the mission behind Castle DAO. The focus was scale, texture, and atmosphere - wide compositions, low angles, interior details, drone perspectives, and controlled movement making the space feel large and immersive. The goal was to show Slane Castle not just as a historic location, but as a powerful residency environment—bigger than a venue, a place where something important was about to begin.
Making Slane Castle the visual anchor
The film's strongest element was the location itself. Slane Castle wasn't just a background - its architecture, stonework, high ceilings, halls, staircases, and grounds all built a sense of scale. The idea was contrast: historic setting against future-facing ambition. Ancient stone against modern ambition—a centuries-old castle reimagined as a workspace for builders, founders, and creative minds building some of the most exciting work in the Solana ecosystem and Ireland. Old walls. New ideas.
A voice-led launch film
The film was structured around Alejandro's presence. Rather than a traditional explainer, it used his voice to guide viewers through the idea behind Castle DAO. This humanized the launch - people connect with people. His presence anchored the event to a real person, a real community, and a clear mission. That's why shot planning mattered - each frame needed to establish the space, add atmosphere, or support the message. One of the strongest lines became the closing direction: "We are laying the first stone."
Planning the shoot
We captured Alejandro's on-camera moments across the castle, along with exteriors, interiors, architectural details, wide frames, and atmospheric coverage. Because the treatment had already defined the structure, the shoot had clear direction from the start - each setup supporting the location, the voiceover, or the final message.
